Last updated: May 14, 2026

This section describes how Oliver Ma for Lieutenant Governor 2026 (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares personal information in connection with our SMS/text messaging program. It supplements our general Privacy Policy and applies whenever you provide your mobile telephone number to us, opt in to receive text messages from us, or otherwise interact with our SMS program.

1. Information we collect for the SMS program

When you opt in to receive text messages from Oliver Ma for Lieutenant Governor 2026, we collect: (a) your mobile telephone number; (b) the date, time, source, and method of your opt-in (for example, the URL of the sign-up form or keyword used); (c) your wireless carrier; (d) your message preferences and consent status; and (e) records of messages we send to you and any messages you send to us, including responses to keywords such as STOP and HELP. If you submit additional information together with your mobile number (such as your name, email address, ZIP code, or other contact details), we collect and associate that information with your mobile number for the purposes described below.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect through the SMS program to: (a) send you the messages you have requested, including get-out-the-vote reminders, polling location information, voter registration updates, volunteer coordination, and event notifications, as well as political messaging and campaign updates; (b) administer the program and verify your consent and opt-out status; (c) personalize the content and timing of messages; (d) respond to your inquiries; (e) measure and improve the performance of our messaging program; (f) protect against fraud, abuse, and unlawful activity; and (g) comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. SMS consent — limits on sharing and selling

We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign. We may share your personal data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including but not limited to platform providers, phone companies, wireless carriers, and any other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages. We do not sell or share your mobile information or SMS consent status with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes, and the categories of information described in this paragraph are excluded from any sharing or selling of personal information described elsewhere in our Privacy Policy.

4. Your choices and opt-out rights

You can opt out of the SMS program at any time by replying STOP to the number you received this message from, or by clicking the unsubscribe link (where available) in any text message. You may also request help by replying HELP to the same number or by emailing info@oliverma2026.com. Depending on your jurisdiction (for example, California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, or Utah), you may have additional rights to access, delete, correct, or limit the use and disclosure of your personal information. To exercise those rights, contact us using the information in the “Contact us” section of our Privacy Policy.

5. Data retention and security

We retain the information we collect through the SMS program for as long as your mobile number is active in the program and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure, or access.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this section of our Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above and, where required by law, communicated to you through additional notice. Your continued participation in the SMS program after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of that update.
